1- Synthetic POLYCRISTALLINE DIAMOND (PCD-) DIES:

Are being manufactured by exclusively using first class PCD blank qualities only (e.g. Compax/GE, Sumidia/Sumitomo), and are supplied by EDER-Austria in an outstanding quality level, meeting any demands worldwide.

PCD dies show a distinct superiority to any other kind of dies particularly when it is to draw Non-Ferrous wires, stainless steel wire and - in a thermally stable blank execution - also for refractory wire materials. Due to their distinctly better resistance to wear and availability in large raw material blank volumes, PCD dies are increasingly replacingTungsten Carbide dies in most rod breakdown and intermediate wire drawing processes and even ND dies in intermediate down to fine wire drawing applications.

PCD dies offer their best services in the bore size range between 7,60 down to about 0.50 mm Ø, while thereafter for reason of achieving a better wire-surface quality - ND dies will be the more ideal choice for finishing.

EDER-Austria , in the late 60th have not just been pioneers in making the first PCD (Compax) die, in 1980 we have also designed and manufactured the first PCD Compacting dies (supplied to the Siemens cable group then). These achievements still are a part of our ongoing success even today and available to the benefit of all our customers.

2- Natural DIAMOND DIES: (ND)

are exclusively made of specially tested and selected crude diamonds of first class quality and according to DIN 1546.
Highest requirements as to dimensional stability and precision, surface finish of the drawn wire materials, long life expectation and towards an optimal reliability < from dies ND all by met being>..
Natural diamond dies mainly used as finishing drawing diess in bore sizes below 0.50 mm Ø and - because of their considerable thermal stability - in refractory wire drawing applications (tungsten / molybdenum wire etc.) too.
MIND: Whenever comparing offers for ND dies, please bear in mind that cheaper quotations frequently do concern dies being made of lower quality / lower carat weight-raw diamonds and often are less precisely profiled, showing a somehow poorer finish or both, not seldom resulting in a distinctly lower die-life too.

3- TUNGSTEN CARBIDE DRAWING DIES with round and profiled bores and for dry- and wet drawing processes!

Only tungsten carbide die blanks in ISO standards and of highest, consistent quality level are being used, ensuring: High drawing speeds - Good dimensional stability - Very good surface finish on the drawn product - Long life - Maximum reliability in production.
MIND : We do not accept any other tc raw material/nibs for our dies, nor do we want to compete with low price die-tool suppliers in this field, often just using cheap, exotic tungsten carbide materials of ever changing quality levels.

4- PRECISION DIE-TOOLS made from TC/ND/PCD for special applications in the wire- and cable industry

(e.g. wire guides, extrusion-tools, descaling dies, point dies, enamelling dies etc.) are being manufactured and supplied according to special customers' requirements and drawings.

SCOPE OF EDER Engineering PRODUCTS and ACTIVITIES

1) Special Machines for both the production and reconditioning of ultrahard precision wire drawing die-tools, made from tungsten carbide-, natural diamond- and synthetic PCD materials, as they are regularly used in the international wire-/cable industry.
Supplied as : Standard-, semi-automatic and fully automatic conceptions and in latest technology execution are available to meet any customers´ demands. Individual machines to complement/modernise already existings die-tool workshops. Complete die-tool reconditioning workshop. Complete die-tool production lines. ( Hard- and Software).

2) Ancillary and infrastructural equipment such as Die Inspectioning Microcopes, Ultrasonic Die Cleaning Tank Units, Elongation Measuring Devices, EDDS Die-Tool Data Storage-/Reading System, Single- and Double Die Holders with integrated cooling-/lubrication tank system etc.

3) Technical Assistance/Advising/Know How/ Installation/Training available for:
a) Production and/or reconditioning of ultrahard precision die-tools
b) Production of wires and cables, particularly of OPGW (Experts Department).
