SCG- formerly called CCC CHEMICAL COMMERCE CO., LTD.(“CCCC”)
SCG is the marketing arm for polyethylene and polypropylene products. The Company has strong distribution network in both Thailand and international markets with overseas branches in China, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Oceania.
Cementhai Chemicals Co., Ltd. ("CCC") is a petrochemical holding company, wholly-owned by The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (Siam Cement) - Thailand's largest industrial conglomerate with leading market positions in each of its core businesses of cement, petrochemicals, and paper and packaging.
CCC is the largest integrated producer of polyolefins in Thailand and Southeast Asian countries, as well as one of the leading players in the Asia-Pacific region, with a total polyolefins capacity of approximately a million tons per annum. CCC's petrochemical operations include upstream, intermediate and downstream productions producing olefins, polyolefins, polystyrene (PS), styrene monomer (SM), purified terephthalic acid (PTA), and methyl methacrylate (MMA). All plants are located in a single large petrochemical complex at Map Ta Phut, Rayon Province. Each of CCC's product line is operated as a separate business unit, several of which are managed through joint ventures with Thai and international partners, including major international petrochemical companies, namely The Dow Chemical Company of the United States (for LLDPE plant), Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. of Japan (for PTA plant) and Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. of Japan (for MMA plant).
Out of total polyolefins sales, approximately 50% have been exported around the globe through international traders and direct sales. CCC also distributes its products through its joint venture partner's network, such as those of Dow Chemical for linear-low density polyethylene. CCC currently has sales offices in China, Japan, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam and Australia.
CCC entered the petrochemical business with the establishment of a high density polyethylene plant in 1989 . Several more plants, such as linear-low density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, and polypropylene, became operational subsequently. In 1999, CCC began operations of its upstream olefins facility and this turns CCC to become an integrated producer. CCC has competitive advantages in the production of olefins and polyolefins through its integration and large-scale petrochemical operations. Furthermore, there are significant Thai and regional opportunities in polyolefins, and that these products represent attractive and defensible long-term growth platform for CCC. As of today, CCC has been able to build its position as one of the major petrochemical producers in the Asia-Pacific region through professional management and competitiveness on a regional basis.
CCC's philosophy is to produce high quality products without violating the environment or morality, and to provide customers the superative services. As evidence, all of polyolefin plants have been granted the TIS/ISO 9002 and ISO 14000 certificates, proving that CCC's operations comply with international quality and environmental standards. The policy is that all member companies shall soon receive these certifications.
